Social Media does not replace personal and business relationships. Rather, it enhances them and lets a person, or business, have a broader reach than ever before. Richardson Branson says "Embracing social media isn't just a bit of fun, it is a vital way to communicate, keep your ear to the ground and improve your business."
So why are some of the Top Executives of Companies still shying away from the medium? Perhaps they feel they have waited too long to get involved and the learning curve seems insurmountable. The same thing happened when fax machines, PCs, and emails were adopted. Remember how the C-Suite usually were the last to learn how to use each of these?
But change is happening faster than ever so this time they may need to jump in fully or be left out of one of the largest shifts in the business world since other disrupters like TV, Radio and the Printing Press.
At Leapfrawg we are finding many of our early discussions with clients are spent helping people catch up on the current state of affairs in the Social Media World. However, we do emphasize that it is still changing, almost on a weekly basis.
